for Research and Extension of Intermediate Technology (OREINT)
Mission Statement:
OREINT seeks to empower communities to maximize their potentials
for effective poverty eradication and sustainable use of their
resources for peaceful co-existence.
Achievements:
- Development of 10 acres each of community
forests in Masorie M’bamba and Masalia communities
in Koya Chiefdom;
- Trained 6 Environmental Watch Committees
in 6 communities each in Sella Limba and Koya Chiefdoms
in Northern Province;
- Acquisition of Basic Knowledge on Environmental
Issues by Constituent Environmental communities.
Activities:
- Environmental awareness raising on
the effect of deforestation in 20 communities in Koya chiefdom,
Port Loko District;
- Organized 3 interactive workshops
on wild bush fire prevention and control in a team clustered
in Sella Limba, Chiefdom, Bombali District;
- Development of Community Forest Tree
Nursery Seed in Kamaworni, Sella Limba Chiefdom, Bombali
District.
